Important Whois info verification for gTLD domain names

As part of the new RAA 2013 agreement with ICANN, all registrars are obligated to verify and validate registrant information and in the absence of an affirmative response from the Registered Name Holder within 15 days, should suspend the domain name.

The new requirements apply to:

1- New domain registrations
2- New domain transfers
3- Existing domain names when modification made to registrant first name or last name or email address.
4- Existing domain name when the annual Whois Data Reminder email sent to the Registrant of the domain name bounces back.

Please note once a Registrant contact has completed the verification process, all future new registrations using that same Registrant contact information will be considered verified and will not be subject to the verification process.

To comply with ICANN requirements begining Jan 1, 2013 we will send an email verification to the registrant and will follow up by phone if needed. It is crucial to keep valid and current email address and phone number on file.

If you are using our Whois Privacy Service, your contact information will be masked in the public whois database, however we still will perform validation and verification of the registrant information as per RAA 2013 requirements.

Please note dot-ca domain holders are not impacted at this time, only registrants of gTLD domains(com, net, org, info, biz, etc) are subject to the verification process.
