1.3. How do I Transfer a domain name to 10Dollar.ca ?

There are two main ways to transfer ownership of a domain name: Registrar Transfer and Registrant Transfer. The procedure for each transfer depends on the type of domain name. When you submit any transfer order on our website, your transfer request must be confirmed. This is why you should always ensure that the current Administrative Contact email address for your domain name is a valid, working email address. You may use our whois service to view the information that is currently listed about your domain name. All of our domain transfer options are located on the Transfer page.

Registrar Transfer
A Registrar is a company that provides domain name registration services. When you perform a Registrar Transfer, you are in effect moving your domain name from one company to 10Dollar.ca . A successful Registrar Transfer will extend the period of your domain's registration by one year (from its current expiration date). To perform a Registrar transfer, select "Transfer" from the main menu. On the transfer page, select the option that corresponds to your domain type (.ca, or other). The first step will be to check that the domain is available for Transfer. If it is, you will be allowed to continue and add it to your shopping cart. At the end of the process, your Registrar Transfer request will be submitted. You should keep an eye on your Administrative Contact email address for confirmation email instructions.

Registrant Transfer
With a Registrant Transfer, you are changing the current holder of a domain name. This may be because you want to change the contact information, consolidate multiple .ca domains into one registrant account, or move the domain to a new holder. For .ca domain names, a Registrant transfer will move the domain name into the gaining Registrant account and renew the domain name for one year. For all other domain names (.com, .net, .org, .info, .biz), changing domain holder information is a free service that you can perform at any time. Simply go to your Domains page, select the domain you would like to modify, and click "Edit Domain Contact Information".
