Whois Privacy

Enabling Whois Privacy will protect your personal information. Your domain registration information, including the Administrative, Billing and Technical contacts are masked with generic information within public WHOIS databases. You still retain full ownership and control of your domain name. Proceed after you log in to your profile.

  1. Click My Domains on the menu bar.
  2. Select the domain you want to manage
  3. Click Whois Privacy
  4. Select On or Off.
  5. Click Update

.ca Domain Names:

  1. Individual Registrants can turn privacy on/off anytime in the Domain Management area.
  2. For Non-individual Registrants Whois privacy is OFF by default. Registrants wishing to request privacy protection should visit CIRA's website and refer to the Request for Privacy Protection online form and instructions.

Notes:

When you register or transfer a gtld domain, you can select to enable or disable Whois Privacy. Updates submitted to change the status of the Whois Privacy for your domain may not take effect immediately.
